Does anyone know where I can find a reverse rotation timing gear setup.  I Have seen a picture of the timing setup having 2 gers instead of 2 gears and a chain.  I need to spin my cam backwards while keeping the crank turning normal for teh transmission.

4dr,

Let me check my stash, I may have some.

Do you have a reverse rotation camshaft?  If you are simply reversing the existing cam, the distributor and oil pump will run backward.

Negative, I do not have a reverse rotation cam.  What is the difference.  I am under the understanding that on a left hand rotation engine, with the timing gear setup that I am looking for, the cam would still turn the right hand rotation direction.  The dist. spinning backwards wouldn't be too much of a problem as I can just put the wires on the cap backwards.  The advance would not do any good but it would run.  The oil pump would be a different story.  I would have to find a way to reverse the oil pump flow.  Correct me if I am wrong on any of this please.

I guess I don't know where you're heading.  You said you wanted the crank to turn the same way as normal, but wanted the cam to turn backward.  Now you're talking reverse rotation of the engine.  We need specifics.  Thanks.

If the crank runs backwards, I.E. left hand, and you use the gears, the CAM turns in the correct direction. So this means the original cap wiring and oil pump will work fine.

I have found the cam gear, still looking for the crank gear.

I want my cam to turn backwards.  I am tryign to build a reverse flow y-block.  I want to make a manifold to run the intake through the exhaust valves and the exhaust through the intake valves.  The only problem now will be the advance on the dist. and the oil pump.  I need the crank to still spin normally to run a transmission.

i think that could be done with just a custom cam and everything else stock.

Jepeto is correct, Reversing the direction of the cam will not work for what you want to do. It would also create problems with the oil pump and the distributor advance mechanism.
