Does anyone have a pic of where it is located? I must be overlooking it. I have a '55 292 y. I just want to put it in and don't want to wait for the book to show up in with the snail mail. I'm getting antsy.

Look in front of the left (driver side) motor mount.

As mentioned-there is an oil gallery plug in front of the motor mount(which is where its supposed to go).There are 2 more as you go back towards the rear of the motor on the drivers side.

Just put the new one in and it happened to be located at the rear of the block, behind the motor mount on the drivers side. Quite a hassle to get a wrench and some leverage in there.
