What numbers do I need to get a set of Moly rings for a std bore 292? 5/64 5/64 3/16

Are you sure they are 5/64 on both compression rings?  Original Y pistons are 5/64, 3/32, and 3/16.  If they are as you say, 265 scrub rings should fit your needs.  I don't have a number offhand.

john your thinking of the 312.292 were both 5/64.the 265 is the same.i have an old hastings ring book which comes in handy at swap meets.the 303 olds,287 pont,290-304 amc are just some of the engines that use 292 rings.
