Rocker Arm Full Pressure Oiling

I am getting ready to change my valve seals and was wondering about the modifications to create full pressure oiling on the rocker arm. I'm sure this has been discussed here before, I would be interested in you opinions or info on any old threads discussing this issue. I am working on a 55 crown with the 272 4 bbl teapot.

There are lots of different ways to modify/increase oil flow to the rockers. The method you choose is up to you and how much time and effort you want to put into it. I would suggent that you go to the search bar above and trye in "rocker shaft oiling" and you will get all the posts on the subject. There are alotTongue

A couple weeks ago before installing assemblies, I decided to go the almost full pressure route.  I put an overflow tube into the corner of a vise.  About 3/4 of the diameter of the tube was in the jaws, at the middle of the tube's bend.  Crushed the tube flat but it left a very small opening, consistent with what Ted has practiced for the purpose of evacuating air.  The overflow still fit in the normal installed position.  Havent fired the engine yet, but believe it will work well.

I myself would not go to the full pressure oiling. You have to understand that the oil coming out of the front line goes back down into the engine and follows a channel to the timing chain. So if you want to go to full pressure you "should" also modify the front cam bearing location to allow oil to the chain.

Again my opinion

There a many little improvements that can be done but most are best performed during an overhaul.

Pretty much new.  10,000 on short block and new heads.  Why?  Because of what others have found.  And, out of at least 20 sets of stock original rocker arm shafts, I have only found 2 sets that are reuseable.  Also, ALL of the 20 plus sets used stock spring pressures, so think what they may have been like with 95 lb seats!  The two were probably replacements with few accumulated miles.
