Any idea where I can get a "new" Y-Block water pump for my 292 going back into my 63 F100 Uni? I didn't realize it would be this difficult to find, but it seems to be.

I see them come up on Ebay pretty often, or you can buy a new (aftermarket) aluminum one from John Mummert. Rono

There's one on e-bay, but it seems to be for a car. John's is nice, but I can't quite go that much $$.

NAPA or your local parts store should list them up to 1962. If not try Mac's in NY. Chuck in NH

I bought one at NAPA a couple of years ago. The NAPA store on Louisville Ave. IN Monroe, La.

If you take yours to NAPA, they can send it on to Cardone to be remanufactured. /Duck

Did you check your local parts store. Y's were used up to 64 in trucks. As for a 62-64 F100.

I have always relied on the local NAPA store and they let me down today. Maybe I'll give them another shot and ask for one for a 62. Think I've found one at EGGE, but I'll have to call in the morning and confirm.
Edit: I just checked NAPA online and one for a 62 popped up. Re manufactured only, no new one's. I might have to settle.

None of the truck water pumps are in still being made new. Yours must be rebuilt. Frank Rice is not making aluminum water pumps now. New iron car pumps are still available, for now.

Thanks John! Guess I'll have to go re-built :-)

maybe the price will be a little high due to import taxes/freight, etc, but new pumps are still being made here in Brasil, and Argentina, and by the original Ford suplyer (URBA). The pumps are high quality with ceramic seals, like the modern car pumps. Due to the demand around here, I doubt we will ever be out of water pumps The truck versions can be sent to the factory to be restored. If the producers in the United States ever quit doing those parts, you will have a alternate source for quality new ones.
Yiu can find URBA pumps at the new Ford Fiesta's engines, that are made in Brazil for the world market, so it's a OEM quality manufaturer.

I just bought a rebuild kit from MACs and will rebuild mine.
It will be used without the fan mounting flange that is pressed on the front and instead will have a taper-fit pulley and bushing installed. I may need to cut a keyway in the shaft for the bushing (although I believe it might not need it)
Macs sells the rebuild kits for about $15 + shipping.
The "High-mount" truck pumps are a LOT more scarce!
If you need one of those for a 272/292, PM me.
I have a new (A1 Cardone rebuilt) that I decided not to use. (+ high mount fan, bearing, damper, etc)
Cheers,
Rick
Oh, and btw, Rock Auto still has A1 Cardone reman pumps for Y-blocks http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/
