I noticed an old post by John D where he said he was using the 4V intake with '56 heads, and am wondering if the little '54 intake will seal up to most any of the 55-56 heads?

Another question.  Where does the hot air come from for the side mounted choke?  I have done a preliminary look and dont see any provision for, or remnants of a tube going through the exhaust crossover.  What is the flow path?

About using the 54 intake on later heads, I assume you run into the same sealing problems with using the later intake with the 54 heads. Chancy at best, not recommnded. As I assume you are going to run a 2bbl carb (54 Ford intake), you might as well get a 55 and later because 2bbl manifolds got to be pretty cheap.

Since there are three different head port sizes:  small, med and large, will this small port 4V intake seal up to the medium port 55-56 heads?  Maybe that states the question better.

I believe the 256 used 1.78" intake valves so the ports in the EBY intake might be larger than a 239. Probably closer to the 55-56 dimension.
