If I put a original rear end back in my 55 are bearings and seals readily available for them without much hunting,I now wish I kept the original since it had the ratio I really need.

The common parts houses like Mac's and Dennis Carpenter carry the parts. Many are probably available at NAPA or your local parts stores. The ring and pinion may be a bit harder but try Randys ring and pinion ( www.ring-pinion.com ) Or possibly some of our members have some NOS or good used ones. Chuck in NH

If I find one I hope the ring and pinion and related parts would be good but mainly need to know about axle bearings and seals.

If you go with NAPA parts and they list 2 numbers for the same part the cheaper one is usually from China. Go with the better(?), more expensive ones made in Mexico.
