Last Monday it was a little chilly here, 24 degrees. Not as cold as it can get but lower than normal. Sunday it was 70 degrees Cool Just right to take the cars out for lunch. I sure feel sorry for you northerners and your winter weather. Mike

I'll be snowbirding it in AZ again this winter, yeah, it's nice. Gary

AZ is nice, I did live there for a while way back when, but central Calif. was nice yesterday too!  We had a good rain Sun. night that blew all the crud out of the air.  This photo was taken yesterday by my cousin, great view, wish it was this clear every day. Wink

Until the economy and my health went south I had plans to retire there. I have a couple of rentals in Kingman Az that I had planned to sell when the time was right and buy a big garage with a house attached. Now I'm hoping I don't go broke. I haven't given up yet but it's not looking too good.

aw, come on... y'all know you just wish you could live in Texas!!

... where we have (Houston-area, that is) two seasons...

summer and then the hot season!

I would take a photo of my 57 sitting on my nice green Indiana lawn today, except for onr thing. I can't get the garage door open because of the snow! Merry Christmas!

You guys got it too easy- it's dark out here by 5:00 pm. Last night it got down to 15 degrees while the wind howled. No problems here though- the wood stove chased away the cold while in the basement I continued to rebuilt a pair of old balloon tire Columbia bicycles in anticipation of next spring. Smile /Duck

One great advantage to the winters you guys in the mid-west and back east have, you can concentrate on little projects that wouldn't get done if you were out running around enjoying the sunny weather. Tongue

After you get the garage warm enough to work in, which takes about half the day!

Frank, I had a heater installed in my garage for that very reason, haven't used it yet this year but then it's still 64 degrees in the garage BigGrin

Beautiful Vickie, I really like the looks of the '56's.

BigGrinI've been in Northern AZ in the winter. It will get real cold there, just wait. Flagstaff would be my choice, I love the scenery, and the mountains.

By YellowWing - 15 Years Ago
I drive to Flagstaff every day for work. The day it was 22 here it was -3 there. I lived there for 37 years, like the warmth a lot better.

Tim;I remember driving through the central valley as a kid back in the 50s and early 60s when it looked that clear!! I was in Vegas over Thanksgiving, never got over 40!!! ROY.

Drove into Flagstaff one time in late May. Didn't bring warm clothes or a jacket. It was below freezing and so was I! w00t Chuck in NH

Yeah,  Mike,

The times I've been in Az. it was great cruising weather.

La. is pretty good temperaturewise, but it rains a good

deal.

Here's why I love Arizona(southern half at least). Here at my house tonight it's 6 degrees, snowing and the wind is blowing 25-40 MPH.That's why I love southern Arizona and I sure wish I was there.

Mike,

have I told you I hate you lately!!!  LOL Wink (Just kidding!) All I can say is thank God my garage is heated for we have been in the - 14C range lately (6 degF) and I have had to have my driveway plowed 3 times in the last week! Today the weatherman is calling for another 6" to 8" of snow, on top of the 3' on my lawn right now!!!w00t Heck I should just move to Australia,........................ wait, no, Lon is there.................. I'll deal with the snow!!!!  LOL

Get the snowmobiles out, when you get a lemon, make lemonade, below zero when I got up, heading out on the sleds in a little bit.......45 days till Arizona is my home for 3 months....really looking forward to that, Gary
By YellowWing - 15 Years Ago
Just came home from work where it was 32 and snowing. Ten miles from home it switched to rain and 45. We have had an inch of rain today, sure beats the alternative.
By Canadian Hot Rodder - 15 Years Ago
You've got that right Gary, don't have a snowmobile (yet Wink ) but sure have fun with the kids on my home made "bobsled" run every year!! Never too old to act like a kid!!!Tongue

A week ago we took out the 56 Customline to Culvers for the weekly cruise night. Weather was great. Probably about 55 degrees and clear as a bell. This is in Colorado Springs, and it has been really dry this winter. Only two snows so far and each time a very small amount. The snow is completely gone the next day. Yesterday we had winds that gusted up to 83 MPH!! Blew over a Safeway semi truck, broke windows, and blew over fences and damaged roofs. The 56 Customline was safely locked up in the garage. I pity you guys in the midwest and the east coast.

Frank,

I first have to figure out how to post pics here!!! LOL

Well just to make you happy the snowmobilers have already been drag racing across the lake! They are wild to watch, most will do 12's right out of the box!

Unfortunately last year an off duty cop died out on the lake. He was clocking his buddy with his radar gun. Turns out alcohol was involved (go figure!) and the buddy hit the cop at over 140mph!
By 55vickey - 15 Years Ago
Alcohol and fast snowmobiles don't mix. Had mine on the lake in back of the house yesterday, 135 top end.....whatta rush....now gotta figure a way to get my 312 in there....vrooooom vrooooom
