More brake stuff

I was going to tag on Talkwrench's thread, but it would probably be a major thread drift. I'm about to start a brake changeover and would like advice. I'm going to front discs(scarebird) with power (thunderbirdbrakeparts). I would appreciate advice on tubing kits, flaring tools, and benders. I have most of the parts for the front, but am curious about rear brake cylinders as the 56 is 1/16 bigger yet uses the same shoes and might be interchangeable. Would there be any advantage to going to a larger wheel cylinder.



The Scarebird kit calls for mid 80's Lincoln discs which have sensors on the back, has anybody removed these sensors, it's a ring that looks to be pressed on, but no obvious way to pull it off.



Finally, there was a 56 4 door at the yard today. It was picked pretty clean but still a few usable parts on it. I took the backup lights. If anybody in central CA needs something obscure.

Inline tube has what you need . The tubes are bendable by hand and work very well. I helped my dad with his bird when he put discs on them and he ordered new lines from Inline. Dad used his front wheel cylinders on the back. Since he converted to disc he had a set of front cylinders. I think he was going for not having to use a proportioning vale set up. It worked. I have his bird now and the brakes work fine.

Some of the front disc kits the TBird vendors sell have larger rear cylinders to offset the the need for a proportioning valve.

Do you know what kind of tube adaptors he used to put the front cylinders on the back?  The rears are set up for direct connection of the steel tubes, the fronts are set up for direct connection by hoses with copper washers.

I dont know what he did to make them work. I didnt help him that much on the car. We just talked about it a lot. He worked on it a few days and finally one day he got it to work. Sorry I cant help you. I'll take a wheel off and take a look and send you the info .

Thanks, but it's not important.  I realized that I could just use a short brake hose at each rear wheel to make the connection.
