What carb is this intake designed to use, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Edelbrock-Y-Block-Intake-Ford-272-Manifold-/330512308596?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4cf4119974 . It doesnt look to me to be for a Teapot.

my guess would be 54.they used a carb something like a teapot.

this is the only alum. 4v intake made for the 54, 239 y-v8, that i know of. it's for the small port heads and uses a tea pot holley. there are a lot of guys with early pick-ups still running the 239's. price is comparable with a late iron intake.

I have a '54 4V intake for the Merc 256, and the carb. It looks like the base plate spacing for the studs is different on the Edelbrock than the OEM. Longer on the front to back dimension.
