Just got my first Y block, a 272 in a 1955 Customline 4 door. I'm Ken in Flintville Tennessee. Ford man all my 47 years, well as long as I can remember, and have a '60's collection including: '64 Fairlane 4 door, '66 Mustang convertible, '67 Mustang Fastback, '68 Cougar, '69 Fairlane Cobra, and a '69 F100 SWB with a 240 6 cyl. Also have a '54 Crestline that I'm thinking about turning the back end into a couch for the man cave (wife love's that idea!). Just picked up my '55 as a Craigslist find. PO started tearing down but decided he didn't have time for another project. Want to get it running and detail the engine and see if I can get it back to a driver. Good site here.

Welcome Ken.  You'll find the folks here to be probably the most knowledgable you ever will meet about y-blocks, and besides that the most helpful and best mannered people anywhere.  Just ask and you'll get some good advice.

I live in Manchester, TN, so howdy neighbor and good luck with your '55.  I have a few parts if you need something just give me a shout.

Butch, I got this '55 out of your backyard in Tullahoma. I need a hood but could fix this one if I have to. Thanks for the welcomes.

I have a decent hood that still needs some work that will make a real beauty for sale if you don't have too far to come and pick it up. I'm in Asheville N.C. 28805

Welcome to the site Ken! I haven't seen too many Customlines at the car shows, so I'm sure she'll stand out when she'd done!
