Hi guys.

Before anything, happy new year for everyone.

Now to the point. I have a friend in Holland, that bought a '59 Galaxie with a 292. The engine was bad, and needed a rebuild.

Engine off, he found a cracked intake manifold, and head.

The intake was easy, I sent him a good one from here, that's just the same on his engine, but casted at SPF. The heads are more difficult to get, and he found a set that he thinks are from e '56 Y-Block (will sent me the castings later). With about 12 or 13 casting numbers in 1955, and some more after, this can get really confusing.

Since the "correct" casting numbers are not important for him, basicaly, a '56 or '57 292 head will run on a '59? Here in Brazil we have just two casting numbers for heads, so that's pretty easy, but with a American 292, I'm not so sure about it.

Thanks guys.

Post the casting numbers when you get them from your friend and I'm sure someone will be able to come up with a set for your friend with similar performance.

Ok, I got the casting: ecg-d

This heads are for a 272, right?

Will they work on a '58 292????
