Anyone here know about this engine and trans?  If it's all they say it is doesn't sound too bad.

Wow! I wish this wasn't the time of the year that money just pours out of my business and nothing comes in. The BIN isn't bad at all. Or maybe its good that I'm feeling kinda broke. I already got more motors than cars.

For a turnkey Y with all those bolt ons, that's worth the money if the running shape is where it's supposed to be. I like those headers, obviously with cut outs. Wonder what this setup was in? The listing says "car", so I e-mailed the guy. I would almost think this was in a hot rod, but it looks like it has a passenger car bellhousing. Don't most rodders use the truck bellhousing for this kind of setup?

Pick up only makes for a hard sale, but if you are close it sometimes means a good deal. Wink

Here is some more info that the seller gave me...

Hi, Dan. Thanks for the inquiry. I think that the block (based on the casting numbers) came from a late (1962) truck. The heads are T-bird. This engine was purpose built for my 1936 Ford Tudor sedan. The engine has been in the car since it was built. The trans was installed about 5K miles after the engine install.

I think the guy is really hurting himself by not offering shipping. If he would pull the transmission and strap it along side of the engine on a pallet and cover it with cardboard it would probably go class 70 which is pretty cheap.
