For those of you that have Smithys just need to ask a question regarding which way around they go. I know they are marked with "inlet" on them, that would go to the incoming gas from the motor, however the louvers are pointing away from the incoming gas, I take it that its normal? If you turn it around so the louvers "catch" the gas what is likely to happen? I have the 2" pipe ones they seem very restictive when you look through them... I take it thats the design..

With the louvers opening facing away from the engine flow the flow restriction is less and the sound factor is raised. If you turn them around with the louvers facing the exhaust flow their more restrictive and exhaust note is down. which would you rather have load and fast or quiet and slower?
