Does any know if they made a 312 interceptor for the boats or were they all 292's?  Found one for sale stated as 312 and dont want to drive that far if it might not be one.

Yes,there were 312 interceptor boat motors most I have looked at were 312's. Tom

I've had a couple that were 312s, rotted out from the inside though.  Still got some good parts, crank, rods, ect.

Try to find out where the boat was used. If used in salt water, you my have very thin water jackets.

I have seen the same even in fresh water boats.  People just aren't in the habit of draining their engines and water is water, although salt water works faster.
