Hey everyone! Great time as usual, hood up, as usual some problems fixed, as usual! I think were gaining on it. The MoonShadow is running as good as it ever has. Now to get some performance out of her!

I'm at my daughters house in Dearborn for the week and will head to NH next weekend. Going to a cruise nite while I'm here.

Frank, Glad all are ok!

Chuck in MI (for now)

Despite the rain, the event actually turned out pretty well.  The Y-Block shootout ended up taking place on Sunday instead of Saturday and still proved to be fun for those that stayed.  As always it was great seeing the old faces and meeting many new ones.

Jim and I got back to my place about 8:15PM Monday night even with the traffic problems we encountered in Texas.  Apparently it's been so long since it has rained here that people have forgotten how to drive in it.  I believe I saw the longest back up of vehicles ever but with Jim and his computer driven GPS, we managed not to lose much time as Jim found all those back roads that would detour around whatever was causing the problems.  We ended up driving 'many' miles to get around whatever was causing the backup on the Interstate south of Dallas and ultimately only lost about 45 minutes of driving time based on the time I thought we'd pull into home.  When we did get back on the Interstate going southbound, we had it all to ourselves for awhile but that Northbound side was backed up for miles on end.  Quite a site at dusk with those lines of lights pointing back at you.  Remind me to never knock Jim for having all that techie stuff laid in the front seat and floor board as it seems to come in handy each year.

Just to second what Ted wrote, the backup was over 12 miles for the 1st major accident that we snuck around.  That is probably a conservative guess too.  Traffic was totally routed off of I-35E both North and South.  Then it was backed up northbound to just crawling a few miles an hour all of the way into Waco which was another 30 miles or more.  Needless to say, I had to find an alternate route home.  Thanks to the GPS and Street Atlas on the laptop, I was able to take backroads and joined up with I-35W north of Hillsboro, TX.

A great weekend at the "family reunion" as always.

Boy, I sure wish I could have made it.  We had a family reunion in Iowa.  I saw a red 55?pickup and a yellow and black 56 Ranch Wagon, or County Sedan? near I88 and I80 in Illinois late Monday afternoon.  I wondered if they were coming from Columbus.  I'm looking forward to seeing the reesults.

Lon,

Glad to hear you & Lynne made it home safely and thank you for being a good sport when I kicked your butt TWICE! Enjoy your certificate of NON-ACHIEVEMENT Wink Yes it is true, I could not stay for the shoot-out, but as in ALL three previous years Lon and I were able to have our match race during time trials. This year we were able to have two races and who won..................hmmmmmm, oh yeh, I kicked Aussie butt twice Tongue  For those of you who could not witness the races, my friends Scott and Dave we kind enough to provide me with photo and video evidence. I will be more than glad to share it with all of you when I get it down loaded on the computer BigGrin  All kiding aside thanks again Lynne and Lon for gracing us with your pressence, it wouldn't have been the same without you two! (Oh and I mailed a copy of the video to Cruzin Magazine in Australia "Can. 3 Aus. 0 BigGrin)
