Since I'm a total FNG when it comes to y-blocks,been looking at shop manuals on Ebay.I've picked up a few Ys in various conditions from maybe workable,to mock up block only..So I don't know which one I'll eventually use.Is there enough difference that I'll need a manual for the year engine? Probably use one of the 57-59 engines I've got..Will a shop book for any of those years be OK,or is there some little thing that'll screw me up if I use a different vintage motor? From what I've read here and elsewhere, seems like any will be OK...

Sorry for the noob question, but if it's possible to screw up stuff,I'm a professional

You should be able to get any basic info from any year manual, except the 54 239 ci. It is one year only on some parts. I like the old Motors shop manuals, they are very detailed.

You can buy reprints of the original Ford shop manuals from any of the vendors that sell mid 50s-early 60s Ford parts.Mac's antique auto parts,Concours Parts,Tee-Bird Parts,Larry's are a few that come to mind.
