Hi guys, sorry to occupy the site this w/end, with the 3 day nitro drags on this w/end and inclement weather resulting in on/off racing, i,m reluctantly staying home. While hunting out all things y block on the computer, i came across this interesting picture of INDOOR drag racing in 63 at chicago amphitheater, fascinating as the rows of columns holding the place up sure look vunerable to me, thought some of you may remember this or were there????

Wasn't there myself (unfortunately), but talked to people in the late 60s who were (strictly a wintertime event). Don't know how long the indoor racing went on. Not long I suspect. Aside from the polished concrete surface they had to race on, the course funneled you through fairly narrow doors at the finish line traps!
I DID watch Evil Knievel jump over a long string of cars though, on the exact same course early spring 1970. He barely made it though the doorway after landing.
