Hi,

After a long winter break, I had the engine start up - no problem as usual(beat that modern cars Smile ). But I think I will need an oil change. I have simply no idea what is in the engine at pressent. What should I go? Not necessarily brand but more type?

And as for tyre pressure. I have diagonal white wall tires. What is the recommended pressure on Fairlane 500.

Thanks in advance.

Oil-15w40 or 20w50 deisel rated.Tire pressure-check tire sidewalls for rating.30-32 PSI for the bigger heavier cars is usually a good idea.

Thanks. 15w40 is a fairly thick oil, isn´t it?.

As for tire pressure, I feel a bit stupid as I did not pay attention to that. Ofcourse.

Best regards,

Claus

10w30 is too light. Many of us are using 15w40 or the 20w50.I dont think many 10w30 are classisfied  as "dïesel"  rating. You want something that has ZDDP in it.The heavier rated oil will not hurt anything and would actually be better for your "Y".

Thanks. I will see what I can find of 15w40 oil with ZDDP.
