I found the data plate to what could have been my dads 1957 Ford 300, but I can't find any information to decode the rest.

What colors were GJ, what trim was AN, and how do I brake down the production code 28L6777C. I know the car was sold sometime in 1985, and I'd like to know if this was my dad's car. It would be interesting to know if the car is still out there somewhere.

Well according to my info? Could stand corrected!

GJ colors were, G = Cumberland green, J = Willow green.

AN Trim were, = Willow Chain-Grain vinyl and Green Flying-Dart or Green Silver-dash fabric.

I would check out the Love Fords site http://www.lovefords.org/contact/vr.htm.  John Rotella is great over there and helped me with all of my '55-'56 data plate decoding.  I just check out his site and it looks like because of the amount of spam he was receiving he's now requiring a $1 donation for the service, but it explicitly says that if you can't do that just conatact him directly and he'll work something out.

Plus he's a Syracuse guy, which makes him good in my book! BigGrin
