Hi I'm new to the forum and the Y-block been around engines and such since I was in high school I'm 35 know and wrench on diesels now.  My question is the pulley or damper is it interchangable on the 54 239 with later year Y-blocks.  Reason being is I'm adding a Wurth it rack and pinion with power steering to my 54 Customline and I'm not sure if it will work but I have a later year Y-block that I have set a side to be rebuilt which I could take and use with the pulley that comes with the kit if it is interchangable....Thanks Ellis

Welcome to the site.

All the Y damper/pulley assemblies are technically interchangeable.  Crankshaft snout and front seal diameters are the same for all years of Y production.  Things to watch out for would be different timing pointers and clearance to the front engine mount if that’s being used.  Belt pulley allignment also needs to be checked.
