Block casting number

HI, I just bought this engine and I swear the block number is EOG-6015-A. Everything I read says it should be ECG but it isn't. The number is located near the oil filter.



Any idea what it is other than a bad prefix ?

Sounds like a bad prefix.  Is there a date code on the block that’s readable?  Checking the bore and stroke can possibly help to verify what you really have.

You probably already have your answer by this time.  I can tell you that I am dioing a Lincoln 368 Cu In  engine and the block no. on this engine is ECU 6015A.
