I replaced my generator with a 6volt positive ground aternator and it came with a bracket but I don't like they way it fits plus I had to fabricate a piece of metal and make an extension to put the proper tension on my belt.

Does anyone know of a bracket that would be a better fit for a 272 y block? , also I know several people have converted their cars from 6 to 12 volt and would like to know what type of bracket is used in that application. Most people use the GM one wire alternator in that application.

I would appreciate your response.

Thanks
