Will a bellhousing modified for Inline 223 fitment, then work with a Y block when my 292 is finished? (keeping my fingers crossed). Thanks for your time & expertise.

The upper bolt holes in the bellhousing/block are a different pattern between the six bangers and the V8... the sixes are closer together.  There may be other differences as well.  So, if I understood your question, a Mummert T-5 conversion for your 223 cannot be used later on your y-block.

Cheers... Brian

You should be able to sell the 6 banger bell without any problem.

I thought the easiest (and cheapest) way to attach a T-5 to the 223 3 speed bell is to use a car adapter which eliminates the need to modify the bell. Think you have to use a later model T-5 with a longer shaft though. Just something to think about.
