As my knee worsens my bird sits more and i noticed the upper radiator hose had collapsed. Plenty of fluid in radiator. What causes it to collapse and can anything be done to prevent it? Once engine starts will it return to normal? picture attached shows hose. Thanks in advance.55birdman Smile

Does it expand back to normal if you remove the radiator cap with the system cold?

Could be that the cap is venting pressure (over the cap rating) when the system is hot - but not allowing free return into the system when it all cools off.

I open the cap and over a few minutes it returns back to normal. When cold. I suppose a hose with a built in wire will be better? 55birdmanSmile

How old is the hose? Is it really soft? If it is really soft and/or old, I would replace it.

Radiator caps are fairly cheap - replace it and see if the problem goes away.
