I think that is for 54 Ford,maybe Merc also.The straight cross-shaft is,I think, an indication that it's 54.The 55/56 cross-shaft has a little bend in it to clear the left exhaust pipe when equipped with duals.I think everything else will work on 55/56 cars.I don't know about Birds.

Hi Mark,  The easiest tell on a T bird vs Pass car is the height of the bracket that bolts to the frame.  The pass car bracket is about 2 1/2 to 3 inches tall but the T bird bracket is something like 1 1/2" taller.  Post a pic from the side of the bracket.  You are also missing the split bronze bushing that is shaped to match the ball on the cross bar.  The cross bar in my Bird is straight like the one in the pic but I am not sure where it came from so it might be pass car. They are the same length and function so that one should work in a T bird.

Yeah...don't have the parts yet. They are coming Friday. Working from an online photo. I am using a couple of drawings from the Tbird restorer catalogs to compare. I think the parts are TBird per the diagrams in the catalogs. The Ford Shop Manual only shows a typical passenger car parts diagram. The frame bracket in the shop manual diagram is a different shape and shorter looking than what is in the photograph. What I think is missing are the release rod/ball, clutch assist spring, bracket and threaded adjuster "hook" for the spring all of which mount on the pedal support and attach to the clutch pedal. Also a clutch retracting spring which is the same as the brake retracting spring. The springs, bushings, etc are available from the Tbird parts vendors. The clutch assist bracket and adjuster hook are coming from another source. Still need to locate a release rod and pivot ball.

Mark Dont buy a return spring i am sending you a new one with the bellhousing also might have a frame bracket for the spring  Carl

Here a two photos of the Tbird clutch pedal and linkage that came. Looks good so far but some stuff is missing. I still need the clutch release rod/pivot ball thing. The triangular frame mount is 4 1/2 inches tall.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you are still going to need the underdash section that the pedals attach to do it factory correct.

I believe that the automatic frame brace will work for the clutch pedal suspension but has no provision for the clutch pedal return spring to be attached to.Therefore the clutch pedal always hangs low.No spring to pull it back up.

You will also want the collar that goes around the steering collum at the floor.This has a hole thru the collum section to allow for the clutch pedal push rod to pass thru the floor board.

That is where the accordian looking rubber piece is attached as a weatherstrip over the rod.

I looked for a long time till I found the under dash brace.I suppose that a strong bolt could be used as a return spring attachment post as suggested below but thats a lot of spring tension to consider.

I did this on a 57 Ford back in 1960. If my memory serves me correctly I took the pedal assembly from a 54 and installed it. The pivot shaft fit in the automatic support but I had to drill a hole for the return spring. Which always made that stretching spring noise from then on.Wink I did not change the support. Thats if a 51 year old memory is anywhere near accurate. Chuck in NH

The photo is a great help. Much better than looking at a drawing. I will search for a correct brace as the T-5 conversion is coming after some more important changes are finished. I finally dialed in the Triple 94's and progressive linkage, timing and mixture yesterday and really laid into it on an open road. Holy Moly! Reaming the Granada spindles and installing front disc brakes are now a first and immediate priority. If I don't come across a brace for a standard shift Bird I think fabricating some sort of braced bolt for the clutch return spring to attach, similar to what Chuck did, is doable. The accordion seal for the clutch rod is available but the metal collar for the firewall isn't. Having this OEM correct isn't as important as function although keeping the changes reversible to stock is.
