I think I have a couple of 312 engine and want to know the best way to sell. Should I offer the engine and say I don't know anything about the engine, or should I tear apart and have blocks checked out and ask a little more? Is it easier to sell complete or as a basket case?

In my opinion it is easier to part them out because of shipping, but with that said offer them up here and see what happens. Be realistic in your asking price because off unknown condition.

Tom: Your question belongs in "This or That or in Classifieds." Anyway, Thinking they are 312s counts for nothing, cause the only way to possibly tell what they are, when together, is to view the crankshaft rear flange..and that isn't a guaranty. Go to www.ford-y-block.com site & read the block I.D. info. You need to take the pans off. The Rods & crank should be marked ECZ. If not they are 272's or 292s. Then.. is the block re usuable? Unfortunately, many 312 blocks have cracked mains near the bolts, due to a design flaw & over torquing of the bolts.. So you need to do some investigating & then post in Classifieds..
