i have recently discovered that my flywheel was installed incorrectly by the guy who rebuilt my 292, and therefore was bent out of wack. so, i am needing to replace it! but, i am having trouble finding a replacement flywheel for my 1958 ford custom 300. i have been told that this flywheel was only made for a period of 2 years for my specific car/model. i have called EVERYWHERE AND EVERYONE and cannot locate even a used one from a tranny shop! my car is in southern california, any suggestions on where i can find this phantom flywheel?! thanks so much! Maybelle

Try the classified section, and I assume this is for an automatic?

Check the flywheel convertor's mounting holes.
V8 Cruise-o-matics convertors had four mounting holes and the V8 aluminum 2 spd Ford-o-matic convertors had 3 mounting holes.
Both V8 flywheels are same diameter with 148 teeth.
