Hi all,

I am wanting to swap my fixed fan to a thermal clutch type fan on the 292 in my 62 F100. I do not have any cooling problems, and the main reason is for reduction of the fan noise at higher RPM's. I have done a couple searches, but being relatively new to Y-Blocks, I would like to get more informed input from the experts on what would be better to use. No concerns on keeping it stock, so any input on which aftermarket fan and clutch to use, or if I can use an older T-Bird set up.

Thanks

Here are the dimensions of a Hayden #2797 that I put on my bird. It fits a 5/8 fan shaft.

Hayden also has a 3/4 shaft version P/N 2747 that is bored for a 3/4 fan shaft and comes with a sleeve to reduce it if required.

The fan clutches slip - even when they are fully engaged - so be sure you use a big enough fan with enough blades to cool things when you need it.

This is a Pontiac 7 blade aluminum from 1968 - there are many around to chose from.
