I'm almost finally getting around to reassembly, and I just realized i'm going to need to replace 85% of the clips needed for the trim. It's weird because it has 4 different kinds of clips. I checked concours and I don't know if I can shell out $2.50 a pop, and be needing 70 or so clips. What is everyone else using, I've been wondering about these clips particularly... Any input???

New clips aren't cheap, you can't salvage some of them? Anyway, besides Concours there is Dennis Carpenter in N. Carolina. Sorting out the clips & their #s can be a challenge.. good luck.

I recently painted my 58 ranchero, I got many needed clips from Althea fasteners out of Florida. It might be altha fasteners, google them both. good prices, quick shipping, just make sure you know what you need. I bought some to small.

I just know I can get the posted pic clips fairly cheap and in mass volume, 5 minutes from the shop. That's why I was curious.

I would highly recommend the Altha site at http://www.althafastener.com/ They are also on ebay as floridaautofastener. I will attest that they are top notch folks. I don't know their pricing but I would bet way less than $2.50 a pop. Good luck, Ron

Those clips will work, but you must be able to get to the back side to put the nut on. More than likely, most will be accessible. But you may have to use some push ins in certain spots.

I used threaded clips on for most of my side trim for my 56 Vicky. Put a dab of putty in the holes and used a washer and wing nut on the back. Some were hard to get to but the wing nuts made it easy to thighten them. Do far after many years of use none of them have worked loose. Worked for me! Chuck

William; I agree with everyone else on the sources for these clips. One thing that helped me during disassembly was taking photos of the clips and their position on the side trim before I took them out. On my Customline, there could be 3 different types of clips on one piece of trim. Also, like Chuck said, don't forget to calk each clip before putting them in the hole. I used 3M black strip calk.
