Howdy Y'all,

I have a set of (John Mummert's) Rams Horns and I need flanges for them...... I didn't see them on his site....

Anyone know where I can just buy them (in stainless steel)?

I don't have any. Didn't think finding flanges would be a problem because they were used on all Y-Blocks and other old Fords.

Hi John,

I am going to make up a (304) stainless exhaust system and after I measured them and started looking, I found there's a LOT of different sizes available.

I suppose I can just use the gaskets as a guide,

You might consider including either a pair of regular steel flanges and/or maybe offering either mild or stainless flanges as "extras" etc...

Regards,

Rick

Ok,

I guess the internet is my 'friend!!

I think I may have found what I need but I am wondering if I should use a 2 1/4" (ID) or a 2" flange.......I don't have the "original" steel flanges that came off the original manifolds.

Local exhaust shop should be able to come up with something that will work.

Rick, I have had trouble finding the correct flange too.  Went to three exhaust shops the last time this came up, and ended up with one that looks very similar to your pic.  However it extends out past the RH flange, and it had a smaller bore, maybe 1.75 or 1 7/8.  I used a piece of 2 1/8 exhaust pipe to scribe a centered circle, and removed material carefully with rotary bit to achieve a snug fit.  That is as large as the exhaust pipe can be at that point, because of interverance with the mounting nuts.

Mike,

Thanks for that,

I carefully measured the mount point on the manifold (and the gasket), and compared it to the flange above. (Actually the one below....the one above is the wrong one for the center-to-center bolt measurement)

I am planning to use 2" pipe. I'll just use some pieces of bends and weld it all together with my GTAW welder.

I've finally got the engine mounts that I want to use. Once I get them installed, I'll do the downpipes...
