Master Cylinder Upgrade

Could anyone tell me what would be a good duel master cylinder to replace the original single cylinder on my 55 Fairlane. What year car, rod length difference and etc?  Thank you.

After a bad experience trying to convert to power brakes and a duel master cylinder I had to remove the power brake set up. Since I had already split the brake lines I installed a dual master cylinder for a '70 Torino. You need to get one for an all drum brake car. Bolted on just fine and had no problems with the stock pedal rod.

'72 Granada M/C matched to '72 Granada Spindles and Disc Brakes. Work like they were made for each other. Granada M/C is a bolt on. Also running '72 Granada Booster but may take off in future if/when Mummert/Jardin headers are available and I have clearance problems. Booster is also a bolt on.

Do not use a disk/drum master cylinder with all drum brakes without using separate residual pressure valves (one for the front, one for the rear). The disk/drum master lacks the residual pressure valve required for the brakes. You can get separate residual pressure valves and still use a disk/drum master. While you should get one matched to your braking system, one option is a Granada Monarch (75-80) non power master. You would have to use the separate residual pressure valves with this one. I don't know if this is a good match for the 55 braking system.
