I was rummaging through a couple piles of exhaust manifolds today at an AZ junkyard. Found one DS dual exhaust manifold for Y, EDB. There isnt any references here, so would someone confirm whether or not it is a 55-56 model? Thanks

Mike, EDB is 57-later. 55-56 PS is ECH so maybe DS was the same.
There are some later casting numbers but not much changed. PS 59 is B9AE due to choke stove in exhaust manifold instead of intake manifold.
Seems like I've seen some C2AE exhaust manifolds.
If you see ECJ D/S grab them.

Thanks John, what is special about the ECJ?

ECJ is specific to the driver side of the Thunderbird (55,56,57) - the ID lettering will be on the side toward the valve cover and also will include a cast on "FOMOCO" label. It has a "flat top" that matches the EDB style of manifolds. Looks good with the EDB RH side that went on the '57 t-birds. The ECJ outlet is actually tucked back toward the engine and clears the bird steering column, linkages etc.

Yup, I have a set of ECH duals, right and left side.
Looks like you found some warm weather Mike - Happy New Year!

Hi Marc, I sent you a PM. Just checked the weather in OR and it is rain, snow, cold and wind for the next 9 days. Yeah it is nice and warm here, but not much to do. We have gone to grocery stores each day of the last 6! Mike

Sooooo, Mike..... On vacation in Arizona and going to junkyards! What a GREAT way to start the New Year!
By the way, The L.H. (D/S) exhaust manifold for the little 'Birds is being reproduced. Actually, I guess the R.H. side is as well. CASCO in Ohio lists both of them in their 2011 catalog for $250.00 EACH. (!!!) 'Bird engines sometimes show up as transplants in other vehicles. It would be worth it to keep your eyes open for them! To some 'Bird enthusiasts, original parts are more desirable than reproductions.
Regards,

Hi Charlie, We, I, have been looking for yards closeby to Wickenburg. There are many in Phoenix, but yesterday's venture to the suberbs had me overwhelmed with the mass of humanity. Dont know yet if we will go to Barrett-Jackson, as it is further into the bowels of urbania. I introduced myself to an old guy who had his house completely surrounded by old cars and trucks vintage '51-'63, 3/4 of which were Ford. There was even a complete rolling chasis from a '28 Buick. Will head back to the one salvage yard Monday. They had a lot of cool stuff too. I saw a '55-56 Ford wagon, a '63 Olds 4 dr. hardtop, and remnants of a '57 Ford among other things.
