I put the Granada spindels with disc brakes on my 54 Ranch Wagon and after torquing the upper ball joint to 80 ft lbs and the lower ball joint to 100 ft lbs, it takes 2 hands to move spindle side to side.  I did the same thind to the other side and it moves freely.  Can you torque a ball joint too much.  What do you thinks is wrong?

In my experience you can't over torque the ball joint (within reason) as you are drawing the taper of the joint shaft into the taper on the spindle. Did the old spindle move freely before it was disassembled? Did you replace the ball joints or were you using the existing ones? I would suggest removing the offending spindle and checking both ball joints.

Is the spindle crushing down on the B/J seals and basically jamming it?

I assume you reamed out the lower ball joint holes (as it usually done). Was one of them reamed out too much and the ball joint rubbing on the spindle?

Did you grease them?

Possibly a bad ball joint - disconnect the ball joint from the spindle and check both joints.

Tom;

Are you using the "Drop em Stop em" Granada Spindles? If so, we can assume the spindles were reamed correctly and the taper should be good. I have this set up on my '56. Are you sure you have the seal, retainer dust cap and cover on the ball joint in the correct sequence? Is everything greased well? That's about all I can think of for you to check.

Rono.
