I can't find an affordable pair of ramhorns for my truck. I have concluded that some of the manifolds from the 312 (specifically Thunderbird) will actually clear the steering box and I would like to know if anyone has actually done this or is there a better option for dual exhausts. Headers are not a desirable option. I am trying to add power steering via the Toyota box and have to remove the crossover pipe to make room for the power steering pump (don't I?).

I believe I saw a guy on FTE forum with the cross over and the power steering but when I was trying to figure mine out I could not figure out a way without getting rid of it and thus I too have to wait till I have more funds for all of the little things like this that pop up trying to do a whole different project.

hi again most people on this site would steer you in the direction of dual exhausts as a way of waking up the motor. however my 56 has the cross over pipe and the Toyoda conversion including saginaw pump from a Jag. and yes that is the spelling cast into the steering box! stuey

I had in my 62 F100 two passenger side car exhaust manifolds. So that the passenger side went down on rear and driver side went down on front. Driver side was quite near the fuel pump, no problems with it even in hottest summer days.

I like hearing that there is a way to get the pump on without moving the exhaust all around. I also have the added cost of wanting to keep my 3 on the tree, cost and engineering. Passenger car manifolds will fit on the later trucks, 1961-64 because the frame is wider. This moves the steering box farther from the engine. They won't fit on the 54-56. T-Bird manifold ( ECJ) might clear the steering box but will probably get very close to the firewall.
I have to think if the T-Bird manifolds would fit you would have seen then used on those trucks.
Also, the left hand T-Bird manifolds sell for around $175-225 so no cheap fix anyway.

I have a 63 F100 I wandered into a cheap pair of the tru rams for the y block on speedway motors garage sale. They had some cosmetic dings but I was planning on wrapping them anyway. I also have an ifs with new steering shaft, but was able to home bend some pipe to make pipes through the compartment. The tight tuck of the ram horns leave lots of room for maneuvering.. Pretty much you could run in any angle and take it where you want to.
I laid everything out with wire coat hangers prior to getting too far in it.
I am sure there are better exhausts for performance, but the ram horns with just some plain Jane cherry bombs make a great sound and really keep the old school look.

 This pic shows a Toyota PS setup with the Toyota reservoir and pump. The hoses are also stock Toy which I was able to use without modification. This is a '56 chassis. The crank pully is stock Ford. the PS pump pully is Toy. The brackets are stock Ford but there was some surgery on the steel part to make it work. With about 3 washers the pullies lined up perfect. I mounted the reservoir on the radiator support. Unfortunately it looks like the backwards rightside pass car manifold will not work very well because it is going to dump right through the PS pump.

Fabieber, I have an orphan Rams Horn if you want it. $100 plus shipping. I am near Vancouver BC, Canada. Shipping could take a while. I can check on the cost of shipping on Monday if your are interested. I don't know what is meant by Tru Rams Horn unless it is supposed to be Truck Rams horn, which is what it is. I'll try and post a picture tomorrow.

Tru ram is the brand name. They are probably not as deep quality as the ones from Mummert, but they were 60% off due to cosmetic issues and a discount promo. I figured for $170 what the heck.

Is there a way to tell them apart. The one I have has the cast number C2TE-9430-B. I guessing on the 30 part its hard to read.

FWIW, -9430- indicates "passenger" (right) side exhaust manifold. -9431- is "driver's" side.

Sorry Gekko13, my question wasn't that clear. I was wondering if there is a way to tell the tru Ram exhaust manifolds from the Ford ones just so I could be certain about the ones I have. I suspect that since mine have a Ford casting number they are original, but you never know. Thanks

The tru rams are repops I dont recall seeing any casing or ID number on them at all so I would be pretty sure they are original
