does anyone know if an automatic mercomatic transmission from a 56 montclair bolt onto 1 56 f100 with a 272? if it will do i need to get a different drive shaft or anything else? i will just be using it crusie and go from point a to point b

yeah,the merco will bolt right up. spline different, most likely drive will need to be shortened.

There is also different mounting to chassis. Truck needs mounting ears to converter housing.

 you need a truck bell housing for a fordo.
