I have a 57 mercury y block and it is a teal color and was wondering if that was original and where i can get the paint to put it back original... thanks

Check with Bill Hirsch in Newark, NJ for the paint. I believe that the Merc's used a greeen (teal?) color.

I have a 59-60 Merc block here, and Teal is probably a good description for the color.

I have a '56 272 from a Merc truck and under the grease its a green that you could call teal.

I think Dupli Color DE1618 is fairly close to that original teal or pale green. It's a Detroit diesel color but it's as close as I have been able to find.
