Hi guys,

I have a blown exhaust gasket on the driver's side exhaust, between the manifold and the crossover pipe.  My question is, "IF" i can get the nuts off the studs without breaking them, where can I find the gaskets?  Since I have to take both sides off to get the old one off, I might as well replace both at once.  Can these gaskets be found at NAPA or Autozone?

You should be able to find them locally.

You can try to loosen them when the engine is hot. Use a normal 6 point wrench or socket, no breaker bar or helper bar, if you think you're having to turn it too hard, stop. Let it cool and use some penetrating fluid, be patient and let it do it's job.

You can also use the blue tip wrench (a torch). Get the nut glowing and remove it. That usually works but not all people have a sufficient torch handy. And remember that it's hot when you get it off!

Alternatively, get some headers and convert to dual exhaustBigGrin

I have a pair of duel manifolds in storage.  If I break more that two studs, I'm going to take the whole exhaust off and install the duels and new mufflers and tail pipes.  I would rather not do that right now, as I'm gathering up additional parts to do a full restoration.  But, I still like driving it for the time being.  Thanks for the advice!!!
