rocker arm assemblies

Does anyone know what happened to Rocker Arm Specialists in Anderson, CA? I called their number today and it's beed disconnected. They had rebuilt a set of rocker arm assemblies for me a while ago, but today was actually the first time I actually tried to fit them on the heads. On one assembly, the rocker stands align with the mounting holes in the heads, but the other assembly two of the stands, the ones in the middle, are off quite a bit. I had disassembled the original assemblies and know how tight those stands are on the shafts. I sent them new shafts and they added new stands and refurfaced the rocker arms. So what would be the best way to move these rocker stands into position? I can post a picture if you need to see what I'm talking about.

I talked to them a few months ago and they were moving.

Today I came up with this link I don't know if it is the same people.



To remove the stands I use a heat gun. Heat up the stand and the stand will slide off , nearly fall off, apply heat again to re-install.

I haven't used them, did text a couple hot rod buddies up here and they had nothin, if push comes to shove let me know they're 10 miles down the road I could drive by.

Thanks for the offer to drive by. When I Gooled the business, it appears they are under new management, but the one review I saw posted wasn't good. I'm going to try Marv's recommendation of using a heat gun to relocate the stands into position over the mounting holes in the heads. It's too bad about this company. I've had them rebuild at least one other pair in the past and they also made a roller rocker set-up that was high quality IMHO.

I should add if the stands will not slide off after heating with the heat gun, as some are still tight I squeeze the stands lightly in the vice 90 degrees to the mounting bolts, just enough to feel them release from the shaft. When the rockers are bolted to the head the rocker mounting bolts squeeze the the stands tight to the bottom and top of the shafts. When you squeeze the stands 90 degrees to the bolt you release some of the tension on the shaft. Normally heat alone will do it.

Rono (and anybody interested) I just spoke to Gary at Rocker Arms Unlimited former Rocker Arm Specialist, they are getting up and running after a move and a reorganization.  New website underconstruction http://www.rockerarms.com/ looks like it may take some time to get roller rockers built for my Mummert aluminum heads which is OK as I have some other decisions to make.  Anyway a shameless plug for some Redding locals, our economy hit pretty hard last several years so it's good to see their business continue here.
