i have a 292 with g code heads a mild cam a eldblock 4 barrel they motor is a rebuild and it is 60 over car was running great for a year after the motor was done i was coming back from a short trip when it started running bad i pulled the valv..e cover off and one push rod was bad i replace it.also readjusted the valves put new plugs in itand a new coil and new protix,s when cold it sounds fine but when the temp gets to 140 its startes to pop from the carb and will shoot a small flame out the tail pipes any ideals

The only way the engine can do this is if an intake valve is stuck open when the plug fires. Popping from the carb. This could be a crossed lead or sticking intake valve.
The flames out the exhaust could also be a stuck or sticking exhaust valve,severely retarded ignition or a crossed ignition lead.
You say it does all this when the engine gets to 140, though the engine runs fine to this temp?
Either way it looks you will have to go back to basics and check the valve operation while the engine is running and check your ignition leads.

Having the valves possibly stick after that many miles is odd. One thing that comes to mind, is lack of oil to the top end. Is it suitably oily up there?

car has good oil pressure when we adjusted the valves they all work good and good compresion in all cycs.
