I have the six blade fan. Does the curved tip go toward the radiator or toward the engine. I thought it was toward the radiator but it sure is tight. May go to a four blade.

Thanks,

Richard

As I recall the fan works like a screw pulling in the air so the blades will flex towards the engine. How much clarence do you have? I also found that relocating the radiator mounting flange to the front of the radiator support is not very difficult and gives additional space if needed.

Another thought, do you have any other clarence issues? The motor mount can be mounted backwards and will move the engine forwards enough to cause problems. Chuck

Chuck is right - the fan behaves as a "screw" forcing air towards engine, creating suction toward the radiator. But the effect of this is to force the fan blades towards the radiator in an opposite reaction. The radiused edge of the blade is most often placed on the "leading" side.

Typically - a "rigid" type of six blade fan won't be too close if you have an inch of clearance - and I'd be sticking with the six if I could. You can deal with too much cooling a lot better than vice-versa.

Oops again. Wrong flex theory. Chuck
