I am trying to figure the best pcv set up for my 56 f100 272. I have a big bulky pcv breather into one of the tops of a valve cover with a hose attached to it and running into a homemade attachment to the air cleaner that sits on top of the carb. I am wondering if the same job will get accomplisged if i change the size the size of the hose from the valve cover to a carb spacer that has a nipple on it to allow the gases to run through the bottom of the carb. or maybe just run a hose from the oil fill cap breather to the same carb spacer? any help/advice would be great. thanks

p.s. I would prefer to have the clean look with nothing coming out of the valve covers and not using the rod draft tube..if possible.

One of the easiest ways to go is to get a valley cover that has the draft tube opening in the rear of the cover. Put the PCV valve in the hole with the appropriate grommet and run a hose from the valve to spacer under the carb. The TBird suppliers have a kit that includes the valve, grommet, hose and spacer. All you have to get is the valley cover with the hole in the rear.

I see the valley covers on ebay quite often.

You can use the stock valley cover by drilling a hole in it, but you should weld in a baffle to prevent the sucking of oil.
