Well I have a 60 f100 and it has the 292 and fordomatic. I have the Carb linkage with the shift linkage but can't seem to find the kick down linkage. My question is.... The kick down is it specific for the truck or is the car kick down rod or "TV" rod the same?

the rod from the carby link to the auto is a pressure control rod & is also the kick down rod, the adjustment link at the top of the rod adjusts the pressure & will change the shift points. hope this helps.

Moz, I know what the rod does and what not but I'm trying to figure out if the car rod is the same as the truck rod? Or if its not where can I get one?

The space between the carb and transmission should be the same in either setup. So I would think either one would do. There were instructions on the old site, copied from an old Ford manual, on exactly how to set them up. Maybe Ted or Jim can find them. One thing I did learn is that the placement and tension of the springs is critical to the kickdown proper operation. Too weak or too strong a spring at the back and the kickdown will not work correctly if at all. Chuck

This is the article I was thinking about.

Pretty extensive information on adjusting the kickdown and how it works. If you don't have the rod and clevis post it as wanted. I'm sure someone here has a spare or three! Chuck

Moon shadow,
I remember seeing it too. What happened to the old site? I haven't been on for a while. Can anyone chime in with this info on the rod? Or those old diagrams?

I'm just worried that I will get the wrong one. I need to know what year and from what vehicle is the same as my 60 f100

I think there may have been some variations along the way but the rod with a clevis at the top seems to work well. That is unless your going for a concourse show truck. Chuck

So can anyone for sure tell me if the kickdowns are the same?

I looked my part books,Car and truck linkages and rods have different part numbers. Truck rods are longer than those on cars. Then there is also differences almost every year on cars, trucks looks to be same from 57 to 60.
