Anyone ever done this, have or found a good guide for it? I have the 1954 Mercury shop manual but I'm looking for something more clear or better illustrated than 'remove the seal with special tool# 2346A" if it's out there. There's so much talking about putting in modern power steering, but I'm conscious of the fact that this is a different system.

I'll throw in a quick introduction since I'm just now joining. I'm 41 and I started at age 15 with a 1955 Ford, although it had the inline 6 instead of a y-block. I picked up a 1955 with a 272 in college, I picked up a 1955 Montclair from a salvage yard that I'm using for the bottom half of the body for my Sun Valley, I've had some other parts cars, and my dad's hobby is a lot more varied and a much longer list. I had a 1956 Mercury that came with an FE block in it, basicly I'm down from 4 cars to 2 mostly because of having to move due to work and ending up with a smaller amount of working space.
