I cant find what I'm looking for. Somewhere on the forum it identifies which ram horns fit Y blocks and some that look right but dont fit. Is it the original stock rams off a Lincoln that will not fit a ford Y?

The Lincoln manifold will not fit a Ford. The Ford will have bolt holes in line. The Lincoln will have the holes in a zig zag pattern. Most but not all Lincoln manifolds have a bar cast between the humps.

Thats exactly what I was looking for. I need another set of rams from John and saw a uses set on ebay but something told me not to do it! Have to save a little longer for another set of Johns awesome horns. Thanks!

I saw a post somewhere on another forum where a guy built adapter plates so he could use Lincoln ram horns on a Ford.

Thanks.

I had a chance a couple weeks ago to compare an original set of rams horns with a set of John's new ones. There are some subttle differences that should make his a better choice. Little change in the ports, flow and they are heavier. Considering the high prices I would go with John's. Chuck

John Mummert at: www.ford-y-block.com has them new. I'm not sure where the Speedway ones come from but they came out shortly after John's. John is a prime supporter of the Y-Block and would always be the first to get my money for new parts (and used if he has them). With his projects of intake manifolds, cams and aluminum heads he is part of what is making our old neglected engines reach 500 streetable horsepower on pump gas! Chuck

Speedways are $379.00 Johns are $349.00 so thats 30 dollars cheaper to put towards shipping.

Chuck, Johns were quite a bit heavier than the originals I have, beafed up in certain areas for strength. However, I had to grind flanges to get spark plug sockets on and modify a socket to a very thin wall to use original 9/16 head X 3/8 bolts.
