My 1957 272 has a 500cfm 2 barrel holley, reds headers, straight piped, flamethrower 3 coil, flamethrower 3 electronic ignition, flamethrower 3 spark plug wires, performance distributor with performance cap (cant remember name). Im wondering if anyone has any idea what hp im putting out now. the rest of the motor is stock,it has about 25,000 miles on it............Also any way i can get more hp easily? or how much can i gain from other add ons?

-Thanks Ryne

Guestimating HP is like trying to pick lottery numbers. In a good state of tune, maybe 205-210 HP? Hard to say but there was a +060 over 272 with stock ECZ-C heads, Isky E4 cam, ECZ-B intake, rams horn manifolds, and 500 Carter on the dyno that made 225 HP.

Cam and heads. Although neither may qualify as "easily."

My experiance around car guys with respect to H.P. estimates is, that most guesses are at least 25% high!

Being a 57 he may have G heads already and the 57 cam is one of the better ones.

Add ons would be Mummert heads and intake with good 4bbl carb!

Hey Billy! You need to do a bit of editing.. You aren't allowing enough time for your posts to come up..

Added Note. I've beat Billy to the punch and deleted the two extra duplicate posts. Ted.
