Hey guys. I am replacing the two barrel intake on my 1959 Edsel's 292, and the one I bought doesn't have holes to connect to the automatic choke. What should I do to remedy this? I didn't know there were any intakes without the holes. Here are the pics:

You can buy an aftermarket kit which puts a "heat stove" in the exhaust manifold and a tube which runs up to the choke thermostat.Ford actually went to this as a "Service replacement" .They show up on Ebay.If I see one I will post the item #.You drill a hole in the exhaust manifold and a sealed threaded fitting screws into it.You might also come up with a replacement choke cap that is electric.What carb are you using?

I've got the ford 2100 two barrel carburetor. I believe the number on it is 5752307
|

I have a 4 barrel later manifold that does not have a choke tube. I was told that it came from a heavy duty truck application.
I have not seen a 2 barrel version without the choke tube.
I may have one if you need it.

You could also cut/thread one if you have the tools. Or ask a machinist to do it.

I'll probably either put one in myself or just use a manual choke, I haven't decided. I was wondering about the date code on my intakes though. My old intake has 8B Q and the new one is 8O X. Can anyone decode these for me?
Oh, and on the topic of the choke tube machining, the tube goes through the manifold and draws air from the other side, correct? It doesn't take any air from the manifold itself?
