Guys, need to install new channel in my rear quarters which currently has the glass in, but not the channels. (56 tudor sedan) and also replace the ones in my front windows because the shop that installed the stainless beaded one jacked it up and it looks like chit. So I bought some universal stuff that a rodder buddy recommended I get but he is to busy at the moment to help with the install. It doesnt have clips on it, and its not beaded, which is what I wanted. If anyone is interested its a good deal on it here fyi

Trying to decide should I glue it, adhesive it, screw it, or what. Never installed any before.

Should the front window just be bent through the curve, or cut and made into 2 pieces?

Any issues installing the quarters with the glass in place, or should I remove it?

Also, speaking of the qtr glass, the shop installed it when I had it painted. I dont have the trim pieces or channel installed around the windows yet which I know will help hold everything in place, but the qtr glass has a lot of play in it. Meaning when the window is rolled up all the way it literally flops in and out about 3". I have it held in place with some sticks so it doesnt shift around, but is that normal. I just wondering if I should start over with it while the inside is gutted and maybe check/replace rollers to, cause I am sure they didnt.

I think you just about have to remove the glass. From the fronts anyway. Thats the only way you can get the the lower 'mount'. I bent mine thru the curve but after messing up the second one I bought a "pre-bent" one from T-Bird Products.

The clips are Chinese junk and after having a couple come off and breaking the ears that clip it on the channel while 'adjusting the fit', I used 3M Weather Stripping Adhesive (Black) to glue it is place. Worked good but I'm not sure that's the "Right Way" to do it.

I have a RanchWagon so I have no advice for the rears.

Thanks for the info. I have read since posting this that many others are using 3m weatherstrip, I think that will be the way to go. I did look at the front glass last night, and maybe just wishful thinking, but it did look like you could sneak the channel in with the glass installed. May be tight and could try some silicone spray or something, but if I have to pull the glass it will just have to be done.

If you need the glass lower than the top of the door I believe the lower window stop inside the door is adjustable and can be removed which should allow the glass to go lower.
