A friend has a 57 Ranchero with a 223 6 that is tired, so he wants to drop in a 292. I am sure this must have been covered in previous posts, but i can't seem to find the info.. Could someone tell me what is required, bell housing motor mounts etc to do this swap.. It has a 3speed OD transmission

Royce, Just like a car ,motor and mounts, bellhousing and a V8 radiator, easy swap. But I thought Ranchero's should have a 368 motor!

It likely has the Borg-Warner T86 trans; that is a light duty trans for sixes and small V8s. Unless he's very easy on it, it will live a short and unhappy life behind a 292.

They would have been 292 with maybe a 312 option?

Fuel line runs on the wrong side for a V8. Ran into that on my 57. I just ran a piece of steel line across the front crossmember to hook it up. Been a "temporary" fix now for 5 years.
