How do I purge a carburetor on my 56 Ford? I replaced a couple of external parts and I want to flush out the carb without taking it apart. thank you.

Squirt spray carb cleaner into every orifice you can find until the world looks level...

Not sure what your asking. Does it have old gas in it and you want to flush it out? Probably best to pull the top of at least to have a look see. Maybe if you provide more info we could give you a more intelligent answer...

I'm with MC on your unusual question, which has spawned a couple of strange answers. If the carb is running o.k. leave it alone. If not, trying to clean it without at least taking the top off, may just stir up residue & dirt inside it and cause more trouble

See if this link to an older thread on ‘carb flushing’ helps. http://forums.y-blocksforever.com/FindPost51748.aspx
